Raila Unhappy As UhuRuto to Meet Mt. Kenya MPs Tomorrow

2 min read

Orange Democratic Party Leader Raila Odinga together with his lieutenants is reportedly troubled by a meeting that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto will be having with Mt. Kenya Jubilee Parliamentary group tomorrow on Friday before the Building Bridges Initiative report is released.

This will happen barely a day after a section of MPs serving the interest of Raila have accused DP Ruto of undermining Uhuru and Raila’s handshake plan.

The details of the meeting to take place in Sagana Country Lodge still confidential but having DP meeting Mt. Kenya leaders, is a big show of unwavering unity between Uhuru and Ruto.

The once Uhuru fierce critic, Raila, in March 2018, buried hatchets to sign a secret deal with Uhuru that he saw as a sole opportunity to curt-off roots of his main 2022 presidential rival and this was shown by massive firing of Ruto’s allies, brutal eviction then commissioning of BBI team to strategize on a referendum that would close Ruto out of the 2022 ballot box.

A credible source confides that the later has learned that Uhuru will not use BBI to whip his Deputy by allowing the self-centred referendum to take place as anticipated by the ODM thus feeling betrayed.

“ODM thought Uhuru and Ruto will never meet. That is why they have been fueling attacks on DP accusing him of non-existent corruption that faded away. That is why they have tried to divide Jubilee MPs by all means,” the source said

Some of Jubilee MPs who are agents of Raila include Joshua Kuttuny (Cherangany), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town) and Maina Kamanda (nominated MP).

Then immediately after Kibra chaos that saw some Ruto-allied MPs beaten by goons, several leaders including Moses Kuria rubbished the need of handshake meant to unite Kenyans while the ODM are banked on goons.

Also, Ruto whose candidate McDonald Mariga emerged second congratulated Imran Okoth for his victory though he faulted the use of goons, threats, and intimidation to scare off some voters.

MP Didimus Baraza and Bonny Khalwale were literally beaten by goons said to have been mobilized by Dagoreti MP Simba Arati.

Yesterday, a section of MPs claimed that DP is undermining president Uhuru and handshake and should, therefore, resign.
