The Kenyan business tycoon who is the founder and the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the multi-billion Keroche breweries Ms. Tabitha Mukami Karanja is set to join Nakuru politics come 2022 General elections.
Sources privy to the family have confided to the County Post that all mechanisms have been put in place and now the flamboyant trader is identifying potential and reliable individuals to join her campaign team.
“Tabitha is an empathetic person who besides her life-long persuasion to change lives of Kenyans, several county residents have requested her on several occasions to join politics” a female source said
Though our source declined to reveal the seat that the tycoon would be going for, we have established that she is eyeing for gubernatorial seat and she projects to satisfactorily implement devolution.
In August last year, together with her husband Tabitha was arrested in Naivasha after they were accused evading taxes worth sh. 14 billion that later became political and she might have resolved to use political means to counter it.
Out of all the beer being consumed in the country, approximately 40% comes from Keroche.
Together with his husband Joseph Karanja, Tabitha used to operate a hardware business in Naivasha but they in 1997, closed it and ventured into the most adored brewery industry.
Keroche has a state-of- the-art brewing plant with no resemblance in Africa worth sh. 5 billion that was launched by the axed Cabinet Secretary Aden Mohammed.
Since 2015, Keroche that is wholly owned by the Karanja family has been engage in running battles with KRA that is being accused o have been illegally backdating taxes in bid to frustrate them so that they start selling some shares.
Also in the former NHIF CEO Geoffrey Mwangi is alleged to be calculating how to enter the Nakuru Murky waters.
The area Senator Susan Kihika who is the Deputy President William Ruto’s ally and a spouse to well-oiled Sam Mburu has also announced that she will be vying the county’s top seat.
