Following the new revelation that BBI task force has a secret committee with an underground draft report, the leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto have pledged to storm the ongoing meetings with people-centric issues on economy, unemployment, historical injustices, rule of law and human rights.
While issuing a press conference today in Parliament Buildings the legislators though their spokesperson Kipchumba Murkomen, said, they will not sit and watch public funds being used by power-hungry politicians to misinform Kenyans.
“ We are opposed to use of public funds in organizing political rallies dubbed BBI rallies unless the money are authorized by either the National Assembly or County Assemblies for such purposes,” he said
He further urged all government agencies charged with matters of security to create environment ready politics and BBI discussions devoid of intimidation and personal attack.
“We are inviting self to Mombasa; we have noticed that the meeting is just done no committee, no invitation and no specific agenda so expect us in Mombasa” the flamboyant Senator said
Revealing that all Tanga tanga MPs will not receive even a coin as allowance, Murkomen revealed that in both the Kisii and Kakamega BBI meetings, leaders who attended pocketed sh. 100,000 as allowances while locals got sh. 1000 each of the public funds being squandered.
None of all of our caucus members will accept even a coin for attending the event, instead, we will use our own resources to facilitate residents to attend such meetings and give their opinions.
This however, appears a well-crafted scheme to face the critics of the Deputy President who had used the opportunity meant to unite Kenyans to realign themselves for 2022 general elections.
The ODM-led public hearings will be in Mombasa of 25th, Embu/Meru on 2nd, 9th Garissa, 16th February in Eldoret, 17th Suswa, Kimabu 25th and 26th February in Nairobi.
