The CAS for Industrialization Trade and Enterprise Development Mr. Lawrence Karanja has officially announced his candidature for Nakuru Senatorial seat come next year’s General Elections.
” I want to officially announce that come 2022 I will be on the ballot vying for Nakuru senatorial race,” he said
” I am a lawyer and Senate questions are all about legislations. I am the right person to use my background and experience to appropriately represent and serve the people of Nakuru,” he added
Before his appointment as CAS, Karanja served as a lawyer in Nakuru town where he served as Rift Valley LSK Chairman.
The Moi University School of Law Alumni has been active in legal engagement especially representing the vulnerable persons in court.
He was also among the contestants for Nakuru Speaker’s seat but withdrew his bid to step down in favour of the incumbent Joel Kairu.
His announcement has been welcomed by several local leaders who say they have lacked appropriate legal representations in Senate.
Kihika, though, a lawyer is accused that she has never represented anybody in the court of law or used her profession to benefit the people of Nakuru.
The Gilgil resident is well versed with Nakuru political landscape and enjoys massive support from the current elected leaders.
He however, said, he would announce the party ticket in the dye course.
If Karanja will play his cards well, he will easily win the seat that the incumbent Senator Susan Kihika leaves to vie for Governorship seat.
